Helen Foster-Grime and Mark Hunter MP

About Helen Foster-Grime

Helen, a former company director, was inspired to join the Liberal Democrats after meeting the late Cheadle MP Patsy Calton, who recognised that Helen had the skills and qualities that would be helpful to ordinary people, like her, in their shared passion fighting for social justice and equality, quickly becoming a tireless, energetic and popular campaigner.

Helen as a parent of 3 young children has that rare combination in politics of down to earth family woman experiencing many of the real life issues facing young families today, and international business experience having represented British Industry at senior level to governments around the world.

A law graduate and fluent in several languages, including French, Russian and German, Helen is as passionate an internationalist as she is massively proud of her home turf, the beautiful North West of England and her love of football! Helen is a charismatic and inspirational leader whose energetic approach to campaigning for the rights and freedoms of ordinary people is matched only by her great sense of fun and warm humour.

Helen is a huge fan of our town's football club, Stockport County, and is patron of the 'Help the Hatters' supporters group.

Helen Foster-Grime, Mark Hunter MP and the local Liberal Democrats are campaigning across Bramhall and Cheadle on issues which really matter to people. Helen says:

Your local Liberal Democrat team have a long record of action on issues that matter to residents. We have successfully campaigned against the site of mobile phone masts next to our primary schools, we have campaigned for pedestrian crossings, and for lower vehicle speeds ion residential areas, especially around schools.

Mark has successfully fought against the closure of post offices and won major victories on issues such as the funding of the much needed A555 relief road, the cashback for Christie's Hospital, upgrades to Cheadle Hulme station, more support for St Ann's Hospice, more "bobbies on the beat" and better recognition for service veterans.

Your ruling Liberal Democrat party in Stockport Town Hall also stood up against the unpopular congestion charge, forcing a vote to be held, with help from local Lib Dem MPs Mark Hunder and Andrew Stunell.
