Local Liberal Democrats are backing new plans to help cut heating costs for local families.
The 'Warm Homes' Bill being put through Parliament by Lib Dem MP David Heath will help thousands of local people. It will cut heating costs for the poorest families and pensioners. It will help the environment by improving energy efficiency in homes.
Helen Foster-Grime said, "Energy costs have doubled in recent years. But it is the poorest families and pensioners that are hit the hardest. Some face the choice between heating and eating."
"These new plans will help change this. They will also help cut Bills for everyone
through making our homes more energy efficient."
The 'Warm Homes' Bill has been backed by leading groups including Friends of
the Earth, Age Concern and the Child Poverty Action Group.
